Helping you make that tough decision!

Here are some guys that could be on your bench that you might want to look at playing this week. No need to name obvious starts like Peyton Manning or LaDanian Tomlinson. This is more for guys who would normally be backups that could be in for a nice game this week.

QB

Brett Favre, Packers- Comes off a bad week, but gets a Giant defense, which was a giant disaster in week one and will continue to be bad throughout the season.

Alex Smith, 49er’s- Looked off until final drive on Monday, but gets to take on a St. Louis defense which the Panthers preyed on last week.

Rex Grossman, Bears- Chiefs are going to be bad, and look for the defense to set Rex up with good field possession to throw for at least a couple scores.

RB

Fred Taylor, Jaguars- Really both Jacksonville backs are nice plays against a run defense that is shoddy and team that won’t score much, which will mean a lot of running late.

Adrian Peterson, Vikings- You may have him starting already, but if you don’t get him in there again against the Lions who were ripped to shreds by LaMont Jordan in week one.

Brandon Jackson, Packers- Green Bay will look to get the rookie more involved against the G-Men.

WR

Isaac Bruce, Rams- Will see plenty of balls coming his way with Nate Clements locked onto Tory Holt for most of the day.

Marty Booker, Dolphins- Miami could be behind and the Dallas secondary looked quite leaky versus the Giants. Chambers is also a nice play.

Braylon Edwards, Browns- Cleveland will look to get their top wideout more involved this week, and could have plenty of throwing to do with Cincinnati in town.

And here are some guys you might normally start, but may want to look at benching (if you have any sort of decent option of course) because of a bad matchup.

QB

Eli Manning, Giants- Comes off a huge week, and may play hurt, but I hate starting someone only to see them leave the game in the 2nd quarter re-injured. Beware.

Tony Romo, Cowboys- The Dolphins secondary is nothing special, but they have a good pass rush and could cause trouble. Don’t look for a performance like he had in week one.

RB

Warrick Dunn, Falcons- The Jags got torched last week, but Dunn is a different runner than Chris Brown. Bobby Petrino also said he’ll look for more playing time for Norwood so look elsewhere.

Larry Johnson, Chiefs- They play Chicago. The Bears just stopped Tomlinson. Johnson is on his way to a busted season. Do I need to say more?

WR

Ronald Curry, Raiders- Comes off a great game, but now is matched up against Champ Bailey and/or Dre Bly. Ask Lee Evans how that went for him.

Laverneous Coles, Jets- The Ravens aren’t a good match-up for anyone.

Good luck!
